“Move the Middle” is a tried and true concept that works for incentives!

Here are a few tips to get you moving:

 

  • The keyword is MORE. More promotion, more momentum and more excitement motivates the people who want more!
  • Adjust your rules structure! The top 20% earn the incentives year after year…by changing your rules structure you create an opportunity for the middle 60% to have a chance to win.
  • Encourage new growth and competition – excited people perform better!
  • Award a certain number of trips to participants who may not have the earning/buying power.  Rewarding based on improvement will increase production in the middle!
  • Offer bonus points. Assigning bonus points to specific products allows you to control which items sell and gives individuals, who typically would not have the potential revenue, the opportunity to focus on those bonus items and potentially earn the incentive.
  • If your customers or employees know they have no chance to win, it’s a disincentive which will  actually stunt their growth.  Create an opening to shift a percentage of the middle towards the top and watch sales skyrocket!

 

Increasing the overall success of the promotion is as simple as organic growth that works for customers, salespeople or other employees. Moving the Middle allows more individuals the chance to succeed, encourages engagement and execution and builds a culture of recognition!
